Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been reporting for more than 45 years. She has reported on human suffering in areas of conflict and natural disasters. Curry has covered wars across the globe, including Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Curry was renowned for her coverage of human rights issues in war-torn nations and natural disasters. Curry's father served as a sailor in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. She met her mother during the time she was living with her father in Japan following World War II. In the wake of her father's army service, her family often relocated. Curry finished high school in Ashland Oregon. She earned a journalism degree from the University of Oregon in 1978. Her likely to have developed an empathetic communication style through her exposure to diverse cultures in her early years.
